Major Snack Alert…Manna Bread With Tofutti Cream Cheese And Golden Peach Spread

Many years ago, I tried a yeast-free diet. This was long before I started my vegan journey. My nutritional counselor at the time recommended that I eat Manna Bread which is a high fiber, unleavened yeast-free bread. It is made from 100% sprouted whole grains. Although I absolutely loved this bread, I stopped eating it when the diet was over. I have no idea why I stopped eating this delicious and very healthy bread!

Anyway, while I was shopping in Whole Foods a few weeks ago, I spotted a variety of Manna Bread loaves in the freezer section. Remembering how much I loved Manna Bread, I bought a loaf and have been eating it ever since. I can’t stress enough how delicious this moist cake-like bread tastes, especially when topped with Tofutti’s “Better Than Cream Cheese” and St. Dalfour’s Golden Peach Spread (a 100% Fruit Spread which is my absolute favorite). It is also delicious plain or with nut butter. If you buy it frozen, you will have to let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. If you don’t want the bread to be moist and cake-like, you could heat or toast it too.

My  local Whole Foods carries the Manna Bread in three varieties: Whole Rye, Sunseed and Fruit & Nut. I love them all, but the Whole Rye is my favorite. The bread is very high in fiber and is free from added sweeteners, preservatives, salt, yeast or oil. I strongly suggest that you try the Manna Bread as a snack, or even for breakfast. I will say “your welcome” right now!
