Guess who received a fun filled package of vegan sweets from some very special friends? You’re right, it was lucky me! I was thrilled to receive this package of goodies from my new friends Leah and Larissa. If you’ve read my post entitled Straight Edge Veganism: Syracuse, New York, then you already know how I met Leah and Larissa. If you haven’t read it yet, please know that it is my favorite post on this website for so many reasons. The main reason why I love this particular post is because it exemplifies how people from different walks of life, with varying ages, means and backgrounds, can find each other in this huge world simply because they share a common set of values which they hold near and dear to their hearts.
Before I get too deep, let me tell you about these Go Max Go candy bars and peanut butter cups I received which just might be one of the greatest additions to veganism since the doughnut sundae from Dun-Well Doughnuts in Brooklyn, New York. I agree with Leah who says that “having candy bars as a vegan is the holy grail!!”
It took me just a few minutes to work my way through these yummy treats. Since I had never heard of the Go Max Go food products before Leah and Larissa sent them to me, I couldn’t wait to give them a try. The Buccaneer candy bar is a rich, fluffy, chocolatey nougat surrounded by a creamy rice-milk chocolate coating. It really hit the spot and satisfied my craving for chocolate. Just when I thought that a vegan candy bar could not get much better, I tried the Mahalo bar which is reminiscent of the Almond Joy (my pre-vegan favorite). If you crave the chocolate covered almond coconut candy bar of yesteryear, then the Mahalo is for you. “What about a vegan version of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup?,” you may ask. Ask no more, because Cleo’s Peanut Butter Cups have made Reese’s a thing of the past. Cleo’s creamy peanut butter cups in their rice-milk coating can only be described as luscious and delectable. Goodbye Reese’s, hello Cleo’s!
In addition to the Go Max Go vegan sweets, Leah and Larisa also sent me these lovely Liz Lovely Cookies. I agree with Leah and Larissa when they say that these cookies are “to die for!”
The Liz Lovely Cowboy Cookies are made of a delicious combination of oats, walnuts and chocolate. They are simply divine! The Cowgirl Cookies really taste “just like cookie dough.” I really love cookie dough, don’t you? I also love the fact that these hearty, satisfying cookies are Certified Vegan!
Leah and Larissa also hit the jackpot by sending me these amazing vegan cookies from the Alternative Baking Company…
It just so happens that the Alternative Baking Company’s cookies are my #1 favorite vegan cookies in the world, and I happily devoured the amazing Lemon Dream, Explosive Espresso Chip and Cranberry Orange flavored cookies that Leah and Larissa sent me. Make sure to try the delicious Lemon-Poppyseed flavored cookies too (not shown in the photo above)!
Let me sum up by saying how wonderful it is that so many great vegan products are popping up everywhere to fill in the small gaps in the vegan world. I would also like to thank Leah and Larissa for sending me these yummy vegan sweets, most of which I did not even know existed until now.
Thanks again, Leah and Larissa! I really enjoyed this sweet surprise and I’ll be sure to visit you on my next trip to Syracuse University!
